The initial scope of the types of topics were very limited but now has expanded. The channel was thought to deal primarily with analysing films but now they have become more political. And the name should have the flexibility to fit for both aspects, as well as for any genres in the future that I can’t even think of right now. And with this new name, it feels right to approach the next goals and really develop the channel into something exciting. Thanks for your understanding.

When I launched the channel almost 3 years ago, I would have never thought the videos would get the attention they now have.

How Climate Change is shaping business in Iceland

Twitter: @neo_channel_ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Neo-24692477... E-Mail: [email protected] Video Description: In this video we talk about the Finnafjord in the northeast of Iceland. The reason why we focus our attention on it is because it represents a broader global challenge. While Iceland as a whole is experiencing the negative effects of climate change stronger than many other nations, this specific region actually aims to profit from the changing climate. From 2021 onwards, here at the Finnafjord, the construction of a large container port will begin, which is supposed to turn Iceland into a new hub for international merchant shipping. Why Airbus will Stop making A380s

Why Airbus will Stop making A380s

Twitter: @neo_channel_ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Neo-24692477... E-Mail: [email protected] Video Description: As someone fascinated by engineering, I still remember the day I saw the Airbus A380 take off on one of it’s first flights. Seeing the giant double-deck, four engine jet airliner fly close by was one of those cool moments where a technology surpassed all my expectations of what can be possible. And so, early this year, I was shocked to hear that Airbus will completely end production on the A380 by 2021. The question that remains is whether we should therefore think of the A380 as a failure. Because even though it simply isn’t lucrative enough for business considerations, this does not change the engineering achievement of constructing a plane of this size. And there have been no incidents leading to fatalities, more serious injuries or crashes with the A380. Music from Artlist.io Further Information at the end of the video. Why China's First Military Base Abroad is in Africa

Twitter: @neo_channel_ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Neo-24692477... E-Mail: [email protected] Since mid-2017, China has been operating a military base in Djibouti. For many countries, the Republic of Djibouti has become the central anchor point in the region. It hosts military bases from France, the United States, Japan, Italy and, since 2017, China. No other country in the world has so many foreign bases. The fact that so many countries want to be present here has to do with the location, which is important for a lot of reasons. And it is one rare spot where the US and China, two nations tangled in a growing rivalry, are just 10 kilometres apart from each other. How one NASA image tells dozens of stories

Twitter: @neo_channel_ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Neo-2469247756694957/?modal=admin_todo_tour E-Mail: [email protected] Source: NASA Download the image: https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/features/NightLights Video Description: In 2016, NASA used the Suomi NPP weather satellite to create a high resolution image of the earth at night. It can help us better understand the current developments and conflicts underway. The amount of light pollution is most severe in heavily populated areas, as well as in regions of high prosperity. In Europe, the Benelux region and the densely populated Po-Valley are so bright, that the individual towns blend into one big sea of light. Especially in the Arab world, the extraction of oil creates bright lights from the flaring of gas. And in Africa, you can trace the path of the Nile River, which, as the lifeline of egypt, attracts civilization and is filled with commercial boats. This image points to the global challenges posed by the steadily increasing world population. And while man-made borders can not be seen during the day, the lines of political origin become apparent at night, but appear all the more absurd and artificial. When viewed during daylight, the human influence on our planet is less obvious. But this single image highlights the social divides and political strife from both the past and the present. VIDEO DESCRIPTION: On February 6, SpaceX launched their new “Falcon Heavy” Rocket from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. In a spectacular and very media-effective stunt they sent a “midnight-cherry-red" Tesla Roadster as test-payload on it’s way into deep space. The rocket has the ability to put more than 140,000 pounds of cargo into the lower earth orbit, much more than anyone has commercially requested them to do. That makes it by far the most powerful operational rocket in the world. And SpaceX is already developing an even more powerful one. The BFR, which will be more than 106 meters high and carry up to 550,000 pounds into Lower Earth Orbit. MUSIC from Artlist.io First song is a cover of “Life on Mars” that I recorded myself. VIDEO DESCRIPTION: Because the contradictions between official state ideology and reality could not be bigger, it is hard to get a good understanding of what life in North Korea is like. And as a source for what daily life in North Korea is like, all we have are the storys from North Korean defectors. Because of the limited information we get, there are countless of false assumptions and North Korea is portrayed as this bizarre and odd place. However, the worldview that drives the state rarely gets attention, which makes discussing how to deal with the country absurd, without first studying it’s ideology. Therefore the wording of the year 2000 and 1959 are wrong. It should be 1998 instead of 2000 and 1995 instead of 1959. Also, companys should be companies. I hope that explains it. VIDEO DESCRIPTION: This video features a short biography of Putin as well as a in depth-documentary about how Putin is changing Russia. At the end of every year Forbes magazine publishes a list of the world's most Powerful People. In the current list, third place goes to Angela Merkel, second place to Donald Trump, and the first place to Vladimir Putin. Who in fact has been leading the list since the year 2013. And that is in many ways surprising. So why is the President so powerful? And how is Vladimir Putin transforming Russia and the world? Putin is challenging the European Union as well as the United States in major conflicts of war in Ukraine and Syria. In Ukraine he has annexed the Crimean Peninsula and is fighting a war in the eastern part of the country. In Syria he is supporting the government lead by Assad. And is fighting the rebels that were backed by the United States. The focus here in this documentary is on domestic policy and russias strengths and weaknesses. But if you wanna know more about Russias involvement in the conflicts in Ukraine and Syria, check out the videos we’ve made earlier about those wars. It will be interesting how the future relations will be. What does Putin think of Trump and how will the relationship between the United States and Russia develope in the future? Annotations in the video show the final result. This is a short and quick episode of Society of Geeks where we look at some of the reasons why the electoral map turned out the way it did. People are confused about Trumps campaign slogan "make america great again". Because america is stronger than ever before, by every measure, the economy, the military capabilities and so on. However, this video tries to find the part of america that has it's best time behind it. The middle class manufacturing and industry sector. This video tries to be neutral on the election, it is really about the reasons why people voted for trump, not any statement about the candidate. I know that it is a controversial topic, and I tried to keep this video as neutral and informative as possible. Check out these great articles: http://www.redsharknews.com/productio... http://www.vulture.com/2014/11/inters... http://www.slashfilm.com/quentin-tara... Interstellar is meant to leave questions unanswered. to be kafkaesque - a term names after the german author Franz Kafka, that describes an artwork "that straddles fantasy and reality, and [keeps] a sense of striving even in the face of bleakness“ (Joe Fassler) It's a movie that is hopelessly and full of hope at the same time. Interstellar about the end of earth, and the end of film, yet it celebrates celluloid, like no other current production. with the movie being shot entirely on film. It is a literal RAGE, a RAGE against the DYING of the LIGHT. If you liked the analysis with my thoughts on the movie, make sure to subscribe, it's the best way to support me.
