The unique shield, Auriel's Shield, in The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard DLC for Skyrim. You will require the Ruby Paragon and insert it into the Paragon Platform which is located across the river were the Sapphire Crystal is found. A portal will be created which sends you to an area where a Falmer Warmonger is found wielding the shield. Where to find the Ruby Paragon as well as the others: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rlk0_qbOrXo This shield stores energy of blocked attacks which can be released by power bashing. The shield will flash and glow brighter (up to 3 times) the stronger it gets. Releasing the energy after 1 or 2 flashes will cause your enemies to stagger whereas releasing the force after 3 will send them enemies flying. These effects work similar to the Unrelenting Force Dragon Shout. It can be upgraded with a Refined Moonstone ingot at a workbench and also benefits from the Elven Smithing perk, which doubles the improvement.

Each can be found on the corpses of individual Frost Giants. PARAGONS Amethyst - 0:15 Ruby - 0:45 Sapphire - 1:20 Emerald - 1:45 Diamond - 2:08 Across the river of the Frost Giant that provides the Sapphire Paragon is the Paragon Platform. It is composed of two columns and a Paragon Socket. When at least one paragon is obtained, they can be inserted into the socket creating a portal to an area with varying treasures depending on the Pargon. The value of the treasure seems relative to the value of the Paragon inserted. One of the treasures includes Auriel's Shield which can be found using the Ruby Paragon.
