I found another roundabout to camp in!! These are always so fun, and I generally don't like to do the same idea twice but this was TOO tempting. Almost like it was a trap to catch me stealth camping. It was close by to a hotel I stayed at the night before, stones throw from a Cabelas and a Princess Auto. Made some pad Thai and hunkered down for the night on a beautiful autumn evening. ---------------------------------------------------------------- • Website: https://campingwithsteve.com • My Amazon store: https://amzn.to/49li5Az • Merch https://crowdmade.com/collections/stevewallis ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gear: Collapsible telescopic stool https://amzn.to/4e5ggsL (similar) Camera: Sony Alpha FX3 https://amzn.to/3SIMQra Lens: Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G https://amzn.to/3SL1rm7 Editing: Apple 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Final Cut Pro https://amzn.to/3YeuCiy Drone: DJI Mini 3 https://amzn.to/3YqQ0Ew ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve • TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@campingwithsteve ---------------------------------------------------------------- #hunkerdown #stealthcamping #camping #cheerseveryone

I headed out to one of my favorite camping places in the world. I drove deep in the Rocky Mountains down a logging road miles from civilization. I've had some health issues lately that have impacted me which I discuss in the video, but it was a much-needed camping break. I saw some bears and some other wildlife before hunkering down for the night. Camping food could have been better, but that's what I get for being ambitious. Always keep some hotdogs for a backup when trying a new camping meal! ---------------------------------------------------------------- • Website: https://campingwithsteve.com • My Amazon store: https://amzn.to/49li5Az ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gear: Camera: Sony Alpha FX3 https://amzn.to/3SIMQra Lens: Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G https://amzn.to/3SL1rm7 Editing: Apple 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Final Cut Pro https://amzn.to/3YeuCiy Drone: DJI Mini 3 https://amzn.to/3YqQ0Ew ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve • TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@campingwithsteve ---------------------------------------------------------------- #hunkerdown #rockymountains #camping

I put my little bicycle camper on a platform with some plastic barrels for floatation and camped out on the lake for the night. I used an electric trolling motor and a lifepo4 battery for power to move around. It was a great night, probably one of the last nice days of the summer around here before things get cold. Slow cooker "chicken alfredo" was on the menu for this camping dinner. ---------------------------------------------------------------- • Website: https://campingwithsteve.com • My Amazon store: https://amzn.to/49li5Az ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gear: Camera: Sony Alpha FX3 https://amzn.to/3SIMQra Lens: Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G https://amzn.to/3SL1rm7 Editing: Apple 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Final Cut Pro https://amzn.to/3YeuCiy ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve • TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@campingwithsteve ---------------------------------------------------------------- #hunkerdown #atthelake #summer

I used some Tyvek Housewrap to build a tent, camping chair, and camping stool. The total cost was very affordable at around $20 of material. I set up at a campground and got some looks from other campers but most seemed to be impressed. The Housewrap chair also held up surprisingly well. It was a normal relaxing night of camping and was fun to try out a new shelter! ---------------------------------------------------------------- • Website: https://campingwithsteve.com • My Amazon store: https://amzn.to/49li5Az ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gear: Camera: Sony Alpha FX3 https://amzn.to/3SIMQra Lens: Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G https://amzn.to/3SL1rm7 Editing: Apple 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Final Cut Pro https://amzn.to/3YeuCiy ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve • TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@campingwithsteve ---------------------------------------------------------------- #hunkerdown #stealthcamping #DIY

A makeshift camper disguised as landscaping debris made a great little camping spot for the night. I camped out in a small town by a lake. The camper was just made with 4 pallets, 2 boards, 3 tarps, and some rachet straps. I crawled into the camper from the back of the truck and had a small mattress and some cooking equipment for a quick and easy meal. ---------------------------------------------------------------- • Website: https://campingwithsteve.com • My Amazon store: https://amzn.to/49li5Az ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gear: Camera: Sony Alpha FX3 https://amzn.to/3SIMQra Lens: Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G https://amzn.to/3SL1rm7 Editing: Apple 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Final Cut Pro https://amzn.to/3YeuCiy ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve • TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@campingwithsteve ---------------------------------------------------------------- #camping #hunkerdown #stealthcamping #hiddeninplainsight

I wanted a tour of the true south and Oliver Anthony @oliveranthonymusic was kind enough to take me out and show me lots of West Virginia and some Kentucky on the back roads. We did over 200 miles avoiding as much pavement as possible. It was one of the most fun adventures of my life. I couldn't squeeze in any camping on this trip but I saw lots of trees and had a hotdog so that must count for something. ---------------------------------------------------------------- • Website: https://campingwithsteve.com • My Amazon store: https://amzn.to/49li5Az ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gear: Camera: Sony Alpha FX3 https://amzn.to/3SIMQra Lens: Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G https://amzn.to/3SL1rm7 Editing: Apple 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Final Cut Pro https://amzn.to/3YeuCiy ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve • TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@campingwithsteve ---------------------------------------------------------------- #camping #hunkerdown #oliveranthony #offroading

I am in the US for a month having the adventure of my life. The only way to stay cool and go "camping" in Georgia was to rent an air conditioned Yurt. It was my first time in a Yurt and I put together a little video to show what that whole thing is all about. The state parks here rent these out and they come equipped with some basic stuff (beds, seating, lights). Bring your own bedding, food, and cooking supplies. It was a fun night hunkering down! The adventure will continue over the coming weeks. Stay tuned! Cheers everyone. ---------------------------------------------------------------- • Website: https://campingwithsteve.com • My Amazon store: https://amzn.to/49li5Az ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gear: Camera: Sony Alpha FX3 https://amzn.to/3SIMQra Lens: Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G https://amzn.to/3SL1rm7 Editing: Apple 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Final Cut Pro https://amzn.to/3YeuCiy ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve • TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@campingwithsteve ---------------------------------------------------------------- #camping #hunkerdown #yurt #glamping #campingwithsteve

I camped for the night hidden in my SUV in a parking garage, or parkade depending on what you call them. I needed to apply for my passport and the lines are notoriously long unless you're there first thing in the morning. Let's be honest, first thing in the morning is not my friend so I decided to camp out to be there bright and early. The garage was quite hot, but the camping was nice and stealthy.

My friends and I built a tiny camper that can be pulled by an e-bike and I took it out camping. The total build weighs approximately 160 pounds and I pulled it with an off the shelf 250 watt bike. Many improvements to come but this was a first test camping trip for it. I finally got back out to do a night of stealth camping in a very exposed spot. There was heavy traffic and very minimal cover, but I managed to camp underneath two trees for the night and remained hidden from view. It's still winter so it was a bit chilly, but sitting still really got me feeling cold. It was a fun trip nonetheless! Once I crawled into my sleeping bag it got quite warm and aside from the traffic noise and bumpy ground it was a great sleep! ---------------------------------------------------------------- • Website: https://campingwithsteve.com • My Amazon store: https://amzn.to/49li5Az ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gear: Camera: Sony Alpha FX3 https://amzn.to/3SIMQra Lens: Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G https://amzn.to/3SL1rm7 Editing: Apple 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Final Cut Pro https://amzn.to/3YeuCiy ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve • TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@campingwithsteve ---------------------------------------------------------------- #hunkerdown #stealth #camping

Camped overnight at a beautiful free campground! To make camping life easier on the road I've set up my car to have a half bunk in the back with a small table (shoe organizing rack) to use as a desk and table to put my laptop on. I have a 100 amp hour lithium iron phosphate battery to provide me with enough power to run a coffee maker and lighting. My bed is leveled out with some pine boards and shims so I can sleep level. The whole camping setup can be removed in minutes to return the car to normal. ---------------------------------------------------------------- • Website: https://campingwithsteve.com • My Amazon store: https://amzn.to/49li5Az ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gear: Camera: Sony Alpha FX3 https://amzn.to/3SIMQra Lens: Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G https://amzn.to/3SL1rm7 Editing: Apple 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Final Cut Pro https://amzn.to/3YeuCiy ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve • TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@campingwithsteve ---------------------------------------------------------------- #camping #hunkerdown #carcamping

Hi everyone, just popping in to touch base and keep you updated. I picked up what I'm guessing is the flu recently. Many of my friends and family have all had the same thing so it was just a matter of time unfortunately. I seem to have turned a corner but haven't been in any condition to camp this week, despite my best efforts. I hope you all have a great rest of your Sunday and I will keep you updated!

I was lucky enough to hear about this secret cabin from Way of the Roads, you can check out their Channel here: @wayoftheroads It took a total of 8 hours of driving, much of it on remote mountain logging roads, then a final hike out to the most remote secret cabin I've ever seen. It was a cozy night with a wood stove, waves crashing on the beach and some delicious food. ---------------------------------------------------------------- • Website: https://campingwithsteve.com • My Amazon store: https://amzn.to/49li5Az ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gear: Camera: Sony Alpha FX3 https://amzn.to/3SIMQra Lens: Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G https://amzn.to/3SL1rm7 Editing: Apple 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Final Cut Pro https://amzn.to/3YeuCiy ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve • TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@campingwithsteve ---------------------------------------------------------------- #camping #hunkerdown #cabin

I hit the road with my #camping gear and headed for the #mountains to meet up with @forestyforest and @AdventureTimeLoui We didn't do any crazy hikes together, because I know better than to try and keep up with him, but we did have a good meal and some great conversation by the fire. I made a #camping DIY #leanto out of some extra construction insulation from my house renovations. There was a good R-value to the sheet of insulation, and I put a plastic sheet to cover the door. Where's Wallis and what has been happening? Some things have come up and I've been out of touch with all of you other than the odd social media post, so I've put together a quick #update on what's been going on. Thanks to all of you for being so understanding and supportive over the last few weeks. Crazy Neighbor and I built a #fake #billboard and put it up on the side of the highway to camp behind it. Was a great camping trip aside from a little bit of highway noise. One of the billboards was for onion burgs which are a camping standby meal for me, so you can probably guess what's for dinner! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Website: https://campingwithsteve.com My Amazon store: https://amzn.to/49li5Az Merch: https://crowdmade.com/collections/stevewallis ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gear: Drone: DJI Mini 3 Pro https://amzn.to/44Uqg4I Camera: Sony Alpha FX3 https://amzn.to/3SIMQra Lens: Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G https://amzn.to/3SL1rm7 Editing: Apple 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Final Cut Pro https://amzn.to/3YeuCiy ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve • TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@campingwithsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

I picked up a tent that attaches to the back of an SUV to see if this would fly in a #Walmart parking lot. Many Walmart's have stopped allowing #camping, but there are still a few out there that let you camp for one night. I set up the tent on the edge of the parking lot and hunkered down for the night with my slow cooker meal. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Website: https://campingwithsteve.com My Amazon store: https://amzn.to/49li5Az Merch: https://crowdmade.com/collections/stevewallis ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gear: Drone: DJI Mini 3 Pro https://amzn.to/44Uqg4I Camera: Sony Alpha FX3 https://amzn.to/3SIMQra Lens: Sony FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G https://amzn.to/3SL1rm7 Editing: Apple 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Final Cut Pro https://amzn.to/3YeuCiy ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve • TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@campingwithsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

I headed down an abandoned #rail line for some stealth camping. I hoped to find a nice little spot along the tracks and fortune was on my side. Perhaps a bit too stealthy of a #camping spot as I would say there was about a 0% chance of anyone finding me. This is the official launch of the new #merch store, there are some new designs some classic ones and they're doing a limited time *free shipping* promotion for me when you get 2 or more apparel items! Anyways, all that aside I went stealth camping in a small plot of trees behind a welcome sign. I picked up an electric bike conversion kit on amazon and slapped it on an old mountain bike with a trailer to try it out for stealth camping. There was a little rain, a few mishaps, but a bad day camping is better than a good day at work. Big potential for stealth camping transportation to get into the camping spots I can't access with a vehicle. Well, technically a hamlet, it used to be a village, but perfect for stealth camping. I packed my hammock to a great camp spot behind a ball diamond. Little towns are an excellent opportunity for stealth camping, there aren't the crowds of the big city, but there is the possibility locals will be more vigilant regarding people they don't recognize. I found a beautiful camping spot in a thin strip of trees between a warehouse and a rail line. Testing out how well an air conditioner will work during the summer in an ice fishing shelter. I just used a portable air conditioner from home, not the most efficient model due to the one hose design. This would work much better with a window unit rigged up somehow or a two-hose air conditioner. I was concerned about how much heat the shelter would hold as the sides are quite dark in color. Historic heat wave delayed my stealth camping! Well, it doesn't really get dark in Indian Cabins on June 21/22, which I felt was the perfect place to go camping and test out our solar panels. I found a stellar place to camp at an abandoned oil well! This well is on county land so there isn't any trespassing involved. In Alberta, there are thousands of these orphaned or abandoned wells facing a huge cleanup problem. I believe there is a case to be made for turning these into campgrounds, as many of them are on public land, and there are roads and power leading to them already. This may be a bad idea, but I figured I'd throw the concept out there and see what happens. If anyone is curious about the tent it's a Cabela's Tent Cot, they are heavy, fairly expensive for what they are, but wow are they convenient! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Well, camping isn't quite the same without a fire, it is doable, however. There's nothing better than the crackle of the fire and the smell of wood smoke. It's arguably the second-best thing about camping. Lately, fire bans have been very common during the camping season and really make for some cold miserable nights. Worry no more! with a portable propane firepit, you can still stay warm and, even cook during the fire bans. It's not quite the same of course, but it beats sitting at home. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the first camping adventure of our yet-to-be-named school bus camper. We have many adventures planned, and it's going to get less and less stealthy every week, but I just had to get a stealth camp done. I parked right beside a school bus lot to try and blend in as well as possible. The bus is a beautiful gently used 2008 International BE200. Many more camping adventures to come with this beauty. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Crazy Neighbor and I backed up 2 vehicles for camping and hung a tarp between them held on with magnets, well.. haha of course. That's what we do around here. First reasonable weather camping trip of the year, that was a fantastic change from the last few months. The tarp we used was a 20' x 40' and it pretty much covered both vehicles completely, a 20x30 would probably do quite well for the application, however, it was nice to have the windows blocked out. NOT very stealthy, but certainly good camping. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

I picked up tent cot from Cabela's for a future project and decided I needed to test it out right away with a good old-fashioned yard camp! I don't have an affiliate link for this, but it can be found at Cabela's. Of course, the snow started to fall and the tent held up well, a very comfortable camping trip overall, but the tent would be a bit small if you had to sit in it on a rainy day. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

DO NOT ATTEMPT unless you are sure about trespassing laws where you are! In this video, I was NOT breaking my local trespass laws, but this may not be the case in your area. I found an abandoned gas station on our adventure, and it sure fits the bill for a stealth camping adventure. Of course I had to make sure the property didn't have any "No Trespassing" signs, because that would of course stop me from entering. It was an exciting night, really cool to see abandoned places first hand. A storm rolled through in the middle of the night and that made it an interesting ride back to the hotel. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Secret (well, not so secret now) channel = @SteveWallisStep2 Website = http://www.campingwithsteve.com Well, here we are again. I found a great stealth camping spot with questionable legality. It was a Ducks Unlimited easement shelter for bird watching on a lonely country road. There were no signs prohibiting camping, so I figured I should camp there! Of course, there was the normal trouble, things not going to plan, snow began to fall. Overall, a very successful stealther. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

This week I went camping in a beautiful garbage sculpture in Lethbridge Alberta known as The Thing, Rust Rock Cathedral, or simply Garbage Castle. http://www.campingwithsteve.com Well, I tried out a chilly night of stealth camping in a culvert under a road. This is purely for entertainment purposes! Please don't go into a culvert, drain or sewer! This one was safe due to the time of year and the weather forecast. There was no risk of rain or flooding. I did the last camping video in the old ice fishing tent. It's showing it's age and I'm putting it out to pasture. It will have use as a fixed shelter/storage tent at the acreage from here on. The old tent is the Rapala Asylum 4, which was a clearance tent at the time I got it. I ended up using the tent for about 6 years, including for 8 weeks of gasfitting training out of town. For the price, and ease of setup, it was an ideal winter camping solution. There has been a recent upgrade to the Otter Vortex tent, which will be featured in future videos. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Things are moving quickly down in Hunker Town. A small amount of time to do a large amount of work! Things have been crazy as always, but I thought I would give a quick tour of the place to keep everyone updated. Lots of moving, cleaning, and packing to do. New videos on Thursdays! We got out to the new acreage and promptly had to build a treehouse and go camping for the night. Things got out of control as usual and we ended up making it bigger than I planned, but that's the way we do things around here!

An insane week since the last live stream, we are moving in 2 weeks! We picked up an acreage with a home that needs some work and we're going to be going off-grid eventually. I'm still going to keep up the urban stealth camping as we will be in town once a week or so and I'll have to keep myself busy somehow :) There is going to be a good opportunity for man videos on the land, lots of shelters to be built, and there's some public land on a few sides of the property so everything's gonna be alllllllright. The next few weeks will be a little sporadic, but I'll get something up on Thursdays even if it's juts touching base with you guys to let you know of any new progress or details. Cheers everyone! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

New videos every Thursday! Beautiful wife and I are enjoying some time out of the freezing weather, but there was still a storm to be had out on the coast of Vancouver Island. There was flooding, states of emergency declared in a close by municipal district, but we hunkered down in the Gazelle screen tent gazebo for the night. Salty air blowing through the tent, lots of rain pitter-pattering on the tarp, and some good beers and sandwiches! Was a blast, and I highly recommend this type of storm camping! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

New vid every Thursday! I'm taking a break from winter with beautiful wife, we drove out to Vancouver Island and decided to do some camping in a nice climate. We used the Gazelle screen gazebo that most people use for picnics in the back yard. The downside is there is no floor on the tent, but in this are there are no snakes or other serious threats. We're going to be out on the island for about 2 weeks, and I hope to get a few extra videos filmed out here. Hunker down everyone and we will see you next Thursday with an extreme storm camping video! This video is for entertainment only and not an instructional video, if you are considering using propane appliances, please do research on how to do so safely. The Mr. Buddy heater is approved for indoor use in the US, but not in Canada. There is a low-oxygen shut-off, but it still requires ventilation. Always bring a carbon monoxide alarm and a fire extinguisher! (End of disclaimer haha) This week it got down to -35 Degrees Celsius (-31 F), so of course, I had to go out and see if I could do stealth camping in a rented U-Haul van. Things went as smoothly as could be expected for a van with no insulation in it. I did bring my Big Buddy propane heater to take the edge off, but it was still quite an adventure. Camping in the snow! Typical Quinzhee design, this one is a little bigger than usual because we had access to a quad to pile the snow. I hunkered down and camped for the night after some fireworks and many step 2's. It stays quite warm in there even with just body heat. This is technically a quinzhee and not an igloo, but many people don't know what a quinzhee is. I'll be out again to camp in this guy in a blizzard! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

We were granted permission to camp in an allowance between a shop and the main CN rail line through Edmonton Alberta. I tested whether or not it is possible to use normal summer camping gear in a winter situation. Summer gear right down to the sleeping bag I used. The Sleeping bag is a Woods Canmore 4LB fill which is what I use in the summer and shoulder seasons. The tent is a cheap-o Ozark Trail tent from you know where. I had a run of the mill thermarest that was on sale of course, and my rickety old folding chair. Dinner was a delicious faux thanksgiving feast using all canned or boxed ingredients. The campground actually had free firewood, hard to believe. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Crazy neighbour and I set out on the homemade camping pontoon boat for a couple days up river and back down again to where we launched from. Built it out of 8 55 gallon rain drums, plywood and lumber. We have a removable tent set up so we can camp right on the boat! Nice little heater and a place to cook meals. Was a great adventure with lots of hunkering down. For any questions about why we're not fishing, the river isn't recommended for fish consumption due to natural mercury content. Great little camping spot on crown land. Here in Canada we are allowed to camp for free up to 21 days in the same spot, after that you have to move your camp at least 100 meters away. The biggest challenge is finding crown land to camp on, and finding access to the crown land. Often there is private property blocking access to the public land so it can be a challenge. Well, here we are again with another stealth camping video. A lot of new subscribers since the last video had asked for a bit more stealth camping. I got a $100 inflatable kayak from Walmart and put it to the test in the river. I found a good spot only accessible via the river! More to come in the future. I tried some freeze-dried meals... it did NOT go well. Hunkered down for the night, and woke up ready for more paddling. For anyone interested in the main gear featured in this video I don't have any links as I got them a while ago, but I can give the product names and descriptions: Hammock - Hennessy Asymmetrical Expedition Bottom Velcro entry hammock. I picked it up a few years ago at a camping store in Calgary. Kayak - It's called a Z-Ray St. Crioux, I got it at Walmart for $137 Canadian. Cook set - Cheap-o Walmart Coleman set. I don't recommend. Well, this video took a whole. Lots of work and no time for camping so I thought I would try this out. I got the idea in BC on our camping honeymoon and was going to build it out there, but I’m glad I didn’t... it took a bit longer than I thought. Whipped up some quick bush pizza/bush pie dinner, hunkered down for a cool cool night in the yard :) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Out for the weekend doing some gold mining at just a little bit of a spot I know about. Brought my wife, crazy neighbour, and his brother. We didn’t camp for the night, because... well it’s Sunday and the real world starts happening tomorrow. My review of a 7.2 amp Noco Genius wicked smart charger. Overall a good buy, works as advertised. The DE sulphation feature will not do much if the battery is too far gone, this is more of a maintenance feature to keep ontop of sulphation. The only big downside is the price you pay for the amount of amps. I've been tinkering with the stock version of a cheap left trap high banker frame and have made a couple minor modifications that put far more gold in the sluice. Its just a finer mesh on the grizzly and a trough that calms the water and slows it down at the beginning of the sluice. Team this up with the chips and tartar sauce (Highly recommend the tartar sauce) and you are ready for a hell of a meal. Delicious, make your own beer battered halibut. It's cheaper than the restaurant, but I usually like making my own fish and chips to eat at 1 am when all the restaurants are closed instead of saving money. Hey, it works out very well either way! Took a little trip out to Tofino and saw a nice winter storm. Quite different waves than I am used to seeing on the island. Returning again soon! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Great scenery half way up a 4km 10% grade hill. Wish that hill was smaller, and that we found more gold! Good training for the x Canada trip however. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Saw a couple deer sleeping across the road and went to investigate. Got pretty close to one before it ran off. They looked to be quite young. There are plenty of deer around Sooke, usually out at night eating grass from peoples yards, but this is the first time I caught them across the road! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Travelling through Mount Robson park from Jasper Alberta to Valemount BC. Turned on the time lapse on the galaxy nexus and it worked perfectly. Trip towards the end of February, so it's pretty snowy, but the roads weren't all that bad. Tomorrow we plan to take the gold rush trail and film that in time lapse. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Turned on the Galaxy Nexus to film a little impromptu time lapse film as we drove down the highway and then into Edmonton. I'd just discovered this lovely little feature and thought I would give it a try. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Total devastation driving through Jasper National Park this February. The mountain pine beetle has really started to do some serious damage here. The whole park could look like this in a few years unless we get a good cold winter or two to take down their numbers a bit. Much of northern Alberta has been infested, I was in Peace River recently, and what used to be a beautiful campground looks like a trailer park now. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Running the blue bowl to concentrate down our sluiced gravel. Nice little prospecting spot that has panned out so to speak. Based on these nice results I think I will be claiming up this little stream. :) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

We were out on a prospecting adventure on a rainy February day and decided to call it a day because of the rain. Before we left we took a pail of gravel from the stream to check out at home when we had time. This is us running some test material in the driveway, and making our neighbours mad :) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

How to make an accurate tasting deep dish Pizza Hut style pan pizza. The recipe is available online doing a Google search and worked quite well. The only part I forgot in this pizza was adding salt to the dough. This can be done to taste, half a teaspoon is about all you need. You can add more yeast for a quicker rise depending on the time you have. Follow these steps for a Pizza Hut pizza made right in your oven, that actually tastes like it came from Pizza Hut! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------

Prospecting for gold, on the North Saskatchewan River near Edmonton! Edmonton has a rich history of gold mining, used to be a time when a man could do an ounce of gold or more in a day. Gold was worth far less in those days, but today that would be a healthy amount. The fine gold in the river is known as flour gold, or float gold, and gets slowly replenished in the river every year. I am using a LeTrap highbanker with a 2" pump from Walmart (Cheap Hyundai pump, same as the ones at Princess Auto) Many claim to be able to recover an ounce of gold a week on the river around Edmonton, and northern Alberta. All major rivers in Alberta carry some amount of gold. Peace River, Athabasca, Smokey, and Red Rivers for sure. The gold can even be traced as far as Saskatchewan and to the Manitoba border in diminishing quantities. With a boat it is possible to access the less worked parts of the rivers, and work the paying gravel bars that few can get to. I have test panned down the river for a whole summer and only came across one other prospector! Lots of river for all. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Socials: • Facebook: https://facebook.com/campingwithsteve • Instagram: https://instagram.com/campingsteve • Twitter: https://twitter.com/hunkerdownsteve ----------------------------------------------------------------
