These numbers are therefore incorrect and should not be cited or used in arguments! Safety is not free. We do not only pay for it in money, but also in hours. In this video I do some simple math to point out that we can easily save more hours by getting rid of security than we save with security. Keep in mind that this is not a fair comparison as hours lived on an airport are much more valuable than the hours of a dead person. This is just a thought experiment ment as entertainment.

Follow me on other platforms: https://www.instagram.com/composingaldo/ https://www.facebook.com/aldodevos/ https://twitter.com/VosAldo Scientific models are great. They are basically the only thing that can reliably predict the future. Sadly they are often misused. A good thing to note is that they are always representations. Often even just of one aspect of a system. Therefore they will always be wrong. But used in the right way they can still be very useful.

More information down here! First, follow me on other platforms: https://www.instagram.com/composingaldo/ https://www.facebook.com/aldodevos/ https://twitter.com/VosAldo Anti-goals are a way to get motivated to at least NOT do certain things. It's good to get clear for yourself where you don't want to end up and which actions lead to that. Then, when you're tired of working towards your goals you're at least less likely to fuck it all up by doing something that will get you closer to your anti-goal(s). Goals are often wrong and vague. Anti-goals are in my experience much clearer. At least don't do X.

Part two of my thoughts on fairness. Again thanks to Micheal Stevens from Vsauce for "lending" me his style... He's the man. Follow me on other platforms: https://www.instagram.com/composingaldo/ https://www.facebook.com/aldodevos/ https://twitter.com/VosAldo The veil of ignorance is a part of the theory of justice from John Rawls. He says that because people are selfish, they'll always make rules that benefit themselves. His solution (in theory) is that we should make rules while we don't know who we are/would be. We might also be the one on the bottom of society. This would make it so that we would tend to make it at least tolerable to be the one that's worst of in society. I don't know if he thought so too, but I think this should include time. We should also not know in what time we live or will live. Because people will choose rules that benefit them, and not later generations. Timestamps: 0:00 - Discrimination is bad, but is it fair? 0:37 - We all share the same ancestors, how fair could it be? 1:00 - Or should individual lives have a fair start? 1:13 - But what about time? 1:40 - John Rawls' Veil of Ignorance 2:32 - Capitalism vs. Communism?

A conceptual piece of mine. I only play 5 notes in the same following with a delay pedal. (set to about 0.8 sec time with ~7 delays) The ONLY thing that changes is the speed in which I play (and dynamics). I go from 1 notes per delay to 5 notes, which creates all sorts of rhythms and textures on the way. Hope you guys enjoy! Feedback always welcome Copyright Aldo de Vos 2020

This is an easy way to learn any polyrhythm. Take one of the numbers as the number of beats and divide those beats into X parts, where X is the second number. This will be your tuplet. Then put a note on every Y'th tuplet, where Y is the number of beats you have. Now the beat and the notes will form the polyrhythm you want.
