December 7, 1982 in Missouri City, Texas, construction on an 1800 foot television tower is nearing completion. As the workers prepare to place the final antennas on the top of the tower, one of the engineers involved begins to video tape the final stages of construction. Suddenly, disaster strikes as a U-bolt in the pulley system used to raise the antennae fails and causes the antennae to fall. If you look closely, you can see some of the construction workers falling with the antennae. On its way down, the antennae broke two guy wires used for stability and soon the entire tower came crashing down in less than 17 seconds. As the tower begins collapsing, the cameraman drops his camera and makes a run for cover. 3 men riding the antennae to the top and 2 men on thetower at the time of its collapse were all killed. 3 other workers were injured after jumping off the 2nd story roof of a nearby building that was crushed by the collapsing tower. David Reimer was a boy born in Winnipeg, Canada, along side his twin brother Brian, on August 22, 1965. As the twins started growing, they showed some problems urinating due to Phimosis, a condition in which foreskin cannot be pulled back off the head of the penis. Corey Scott was a motorcycle stuntman from Indiana that specialized in precision driving. On February 8th 1997 Scott was performing a stunt at Orange Bowl stadium in Miami, Florida. The stunt called for Scott to grab onto a large net after jumping a ramp on his motorcycle. He made the jump but didn’t manage to grab hold of the net, and fell 60 feet to his death. On November 13, 1985, the Nevado del Ruiz volcano erupted in Colombia. Jim ‘Bullet’ Bailey was an Australian stunt man that would attach himself to fast moving vehicles, which would then drag or launch Bailey, sometimes through flaming hay bales. On April 1, 1981 Bailey was in Hawaii attempting a stunt that called for him to hang from the bottom of a small airplane. The stunt turned tragic when the belt that attached Bailey to the plane broke, and bailey was left hanging from a metal bar that was being used as a handgrip. On August 26, 1991, Mary T. Wojtyla, was walking with her lawyer across some train tracks in Downers Grove, Illinois; when Ms. Wojtyla was struck by a train that she failed to realize was approaching. Rocky the bear was a 700 pound grizzly that was trained to wrestle humans. On April 22nd 2008 Rocky was being used to film a promotional video with his trainer Randy Miller, and Randy’s cousin Stephen. During preparation for the stunt, Rocky became confused and proceeded to bite Stephen on the neck and pin him to the ground. Kendrick Johnson was found dead inside an upright gym mat, with his head facing the floor. Inches beneath his head lay his sneaker resting on a small pool of blood. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s initial autopsy ruled Kendrick’s death accidental, sighting positional asphyxia from hanging upside down for hours as the cause.
