Michael Jackson's Thriller, played by eight electric devices. The lead vocals are played by an electric toothbrush. Another toothbrush plays the bass while four credit card machines fill in the harmonies and two typewriters act as drum machines. I've made Device Orchestra videos for more than five years now but this is the first Michael Jackson song I've covered. I'm sure this won't be the last! #michaeljackson #thriller *** Share this video: https://youtu.be/54czQc-EExA *** Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/deviceorchestra?sub_confirmation=1 *** Support me on Patreon: ► https://www.patreon.com/deviceorchestra Buy some merch: ► https://crowdmade.com/collections/deviceorchestra Follow Device Orchestra: ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deviceorchestra ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deviceorchestra

Miley Cyrus's Flowers played by two electric toothbrushes and a credit card machine. Flowers by Miley Cyrus was the most streamed song of 2023 and so it deserves well a cover version to be played by Device Orchestra. I was also happy with how well the song worked on three devices only. I'm still catching up with my schedule so I currently need to keep things simple where I can. But stay tuned, there's some new and definitely non-simple stuff coming up this year! #flowers #mileycyrus *** Share this video: https://youtu.be/ynbSYAbZkus *** Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/deviceorchestra?sub_confirmation=1 *** Support me on Patreon: ► https://www.patreon.com/deviceorchestra Buy some merch: ► https://crowdmade.com/collections/deviceorchestra Follow Device Orchestra: ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deviceorchestra ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deviceorchestra

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's theme song "Dragonborn", played by electric toothbrushes, credit card machines, a typewriter, and a steam iron. The song composed by Jeremy Soule has so many interesting parts that I ended up making this video a bit longer than I first thought. To have some Skyrim in the appearance of the devices, I made horns for the main vocals toothbrush and also let them have a sword. Of course, the sword has googly eyes too. The devices did quite well, I think. The wireless control units I made last year work quite reliably with no timing issues. However, the paper loops of the credit card machines aren't reliable. Sometimes the paper gets stuck and sometimes the loop breaks (like in this video). So there are some things to improve this year. #dragonborn #skyrim Check out my other gaming music videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLj26U_DWSLooqCtrsxFCNBaTiWjAF5Bj5 *** Share this video: https://youtu.be/w4RlUodOXi8 *** Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/deviceorchestra?sub_confirmation=1 *** Support me on Patreon: ► https://www.patreon.com/deviceorchestra Buy some merch: ► https://crowdmade.com/collections/deviceorchestra Follow Device Orchestra: ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deviceorchestra ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deviceorchestra

Aqua's Barbie Girl played by electric devices with a toothbrush as Barbie and a shaver as Ken. The percussion is handled by a steam iron and two typewriters. The bass is played by another electric toothbrush and three credit card machines complement the harmonies. This year, I've been focusing on making Device Orchestra wireless so I haven't had time to use some devices for a long time. I know many of you have hoped to see Ron (the steam iron) again and he makes a beautiful comeback in this video. The pink steam is achieved by using pink light to light up the steam (though I empahized the pinkness digitally after filming too). I'm also happy how well the pink shaver came out of Ken's role. The shaver made their debut in one of my first videos back in 2019: https://youtu.be/dMG61Exvcr0 #barbie #barbiegirl *** Support me on Patreon: ► https://www.patreon.com/deviceorchestra Buy some merch: ► https://crowdmade.com/collections/deviceorchestra Listen to Device Orchestra: Spotify: ► https://open.spotify.com/album/68bGIbqHDX2zldj8CrmKUA?si=-vZ84SgQTm2WdWx365MMmQ Apple Music: ► https://music.apple.com/us/album/i-need-googly-eyes-baby/1656658156 Follow Device Orchestra: ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deviceorchestra ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deviceorchestra

A Whole New World from Disney's "Aladdin", played by two electric toothbrushes and eight credit card machines. In the video, there's also a flying carpet, lifted by a typewriter that pulls receipt paper that's attached to sewing threads that are attached to the carpet. For this video, I made 3D-printed casings for the wireless control units. The casing has two "floors", one for the batteries and one for Raspberry Pi Pico and the custom-made shield. The casing also has a door and a power switch on the back wall. This video is one example of things that we can do now that everything is wireless. The devices can move so much more freely now. The wireless world is really a whole new world. #aladdin #awholenewworld *** Support me on Patreon: ► https://www.patreon.com/deviceorchestra Buy some merch: ► https://crowdmade.com/collections/deviceorchestra Listen to Device Orchestra: Spotify: ► https://open.spotify.com/album/68bGIbqHDX2zldj8CrmKUA?si=-vZ84SgQTm2WdWx365MMmQ Apple Music: ► https://music.apple.com/us/album/i-need-googly-eyes-baby/1656658156 Follow Device Orchestra: ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deviceorchestra ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deviceorchestra

Haddaway's What Is Love, played by two electric toothbrushes and three credit card machines. The wireless device orchestra project is still in progress, and for this Eurodance hit video, I had to actually use some extra wires. I do have the wifi-ed control units for each device but I don't have the batteries yet, which means I need two wired power supplies per device (one for the motor and one for the control unit). It was still great to see that the wifi part still works flawlessly with five devices. No timing issues whatsoever and the connections seemed the work reliably. #haddaway #whatislove *** Support me on Patreon: ► https://www.patreon.com/deviceorchestra Support me by buying some merch: ► https://crowdmade.com/collections/deviceorchestra Listen to Device Orchestra: Spotify: ► https://open.spotify.com/album/68bGIbqHDX2zldj8CrmKUA?si=-vZ84SgQTm2WdWx365MMmQ Apple Music: ► https://music.apple.com/us/album/i-need-googly-eyes-baby/1656658156 Follow Device Orchestra: ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deviceorchestra ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deviceorchestra

In this episode of the Device Orchestra, two electric toothbrushes powered by Raspberry Pi Pico W's play Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky'. This is my first experiment using Wi-Fi and multiple microcontrollers, marking a significant step toward creating a fully wireless Device Orchestra. This is the first video I've done using Wi-Fi and with more than one microcontroller. Both toothbrushes have their own Raspberry Pi Picos, and they are connected to my computer with a Wi-Fi network. I can start and stop the song, using a simple text user interface I created. The device-specific controller units and Wi-Fi connection are very important steps on my way to the wireless Device Orchestra. Before, I had only one controller unit for the whole orchestra, which meant I needed quite long wires for each device. Now that the controller unit is very close to the device, the wires can be a lot shorter than before. The next step in the wireless Device Orchestra project will be to have batteries instead of wired power supplies. Stay tuned! #daftpunk #getlucky *** Support me on Patreon: ► https://www.patreon.com/deviceorchestra Support me by buying some merch: ► https://crowdmade.com/collections/deviceorchestra Listen to Device Orchestra: Spotify: ► https://open.spotify.com/album/68bGIbqHDX2zldj8CrmKUA?si=-vZ84SgQTm2WdWx365MMmQ Apple Music: ► https://music.apple.com/us/album/i-need-googly-eyes-baby/1656658156 Follow Device Orchestra: ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deviceorchestra ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deviceorchestra

Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water, played by a steam iron and two electric toothbrushes. I have started making Device Orchestra wireless. As a first step, I've now changed my microcontroller from Arduino Due to Raspberry Pi Pico for this video. The reason is that Raspberry Pi Pico W has built-in Wifi. I also need to change to a smaller microcontroller because, in the future, I'm going to have one microcontroller per device to reduce the length of wires. I chose Smoke on the Water for this video partly because it has one of the guitar riffs that you might try if you're testing a new guitar. My Smoke on the Water testing on Raspberry Pi Pico was successful. Stay tuned for the next steps of the wireless Device Orchestra project! *** Device Orchestra album: Spotify: ► https://open.spotify.com/album/68bGIbqHDX2zldj8CrmKUA?si=-vZ84SgQTm2WdWx365MMmQ Apple Music: ► https://music.apple.com/us/album/i-need-googly-eyes-baby/1656658156 Merch store: ► https://crowdmade.com/collections/deviceorchestra Patreon: ► https://www.patreon.com/deviceorchestra Socials: ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deviceorchestra ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deviceorchestra

Bad Guy played by two credit card machines. I 3D-printed eyelashes for the googly eyes one of the credit card machines. The name of that machine is "Billie Eyelash" from now on. For this video, I also changed the way I use the "receipt" paper in the card machines. Before I used paper rolls but in this video, I use paper loops. That removes the need to "reset" each credit card machine between takes, and so increases the scalability of the orchestra. *** Device Orchestra album: Spotify: ► https://open.spotify.com/album/68bGIbqHDX2zldj8CrmKUA?si=-vZ84SgQTm2WdWx365MMmQ Apple Music: ► https://music.apple.com/us/album/i-need-googly-eyes-baby/1656658156 Merch store: ► https://crowdmade.com/collections/deviceorchestra Patreon: ► https://www.patreon.com/deviceorchestra Socials: ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deviceorchestra ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deviceorchestra

Winter Wonderland played by two electric toothbrushes, two credit card machines, a PS2 controller, a typewriter, and a telephone. The toothbrushes drive on an RC car through a snowy forest to a googly-eyed ski-jumping hill where Bob Floss tests his new 3D-printed skis. Boney M's Rasputin played by four electric toothbrushes, two electronic typewriters, one credit card machine, one PS2 controller, and a steam iron filled with diluted smoke fluid. While the devices play this 70s disco hit, they do some stop motion dancing to the song. A friend of mine suggested trying smoke machine fluid in a steam iron to get more showy effects. Because a steam iron is not designed for smoke fluid, I diluted the fluid with water to reduce the risk of any explosions. The resulting steam does look even better than the steam with plain water. And also the resulting smoke machine smell goes well with Rasputin. I think I'll use the fluid for future music videos too! #rasputin, #boneym Patreon: ► https://www.patreon.com/deviceorchestra Device Orchestra album: ► Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3olwAfl ► Apple Music: https://apple.co/37BPlEu Merch: ► https://teespring.com/stores/device-orchestra Socials: ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deviceorchestra ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deviceorchestra

Earth, Wind & Fire's September played by ten electric devices: 5 toothbrushes, 3 credit card machines, and 2 typewriters. The electric toothbrushes also dance in stop motion. This video took a lot of work for many reasons. The arrangement has a lot of details, there are many devices playing the song and the video is longer than my music videos usually are. The stop motion animation dance parts were quite hard to make too. I took about 300 pictures to make them. #September *** Patreon: ► https://www.patreon.com/deviceorchestra Device Orchestra album: ► Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3olwAfl ► Apple Music: https://apple.co/37BPlEu Merch: ► https://teespring.com/stores/device-orchestra Socials: ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deviceorchestra ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deviceorchestra

The video is sponsored by Oatly. The Oatly song "Wow No Cow" played by two electric toothbrushes and a typewriter. The song was played in Oatly's Super Bowl ad this year. I also added some stop motion footage to this one. It has also been a while since a typewriter typed something. The Imperial March played by a toaster, two electric toothbrushes, and a typewriter. I used a microcontroller and a rubber band to control the electromagnet inside the toaster to move the bread slot up and down. In the Hall of the Mountain King played by 17 electronic devices. The orchestra consists of 7 electric toothbrushes, 7 credit card machines, two steam irons and one electric typewriter. Edvard Grieg composed In the Hall of the Mountain King in 1875 for a play called Peer Gynt. My version for 17 devices is similar to the original composition. Due to technical limitations, I needed to make this video a multi-screen music video and record each device one by one. *** Device Orchestra album: ► Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3olwAfl ► Apple Music: https://apple.co/37BPlEu Patreon: ► https://www.patreon.com/deviceorchestra Merch: ► https://teespring.com/stores/device-orchestra Socials: ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deviceorchestra ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deviceorchestra

All Star by Smash Mouth played by an electric toothbrush, four credit card machines, two electric typewriters, and a steam iron. After nearly 200 requests, it's finally here! A Device Orchestra cover of the Smash Mouth hit All Star. The toothbrush sings the lead vocals while the credit card machines play the bass and the chords. Noisestorm's Crab Rave played by an ab belt, three electric toothbrushes, a typewriter, and a steam iron. The ab belt turned out to be a decent percussion instrument. By turning it on for a very short time, it makes one vibration which makes the whole device jump. The jumping makes the low frequency hit sound. The ab belt also has a zip on it and you can hear how the handle tingles while the device shakes. It's interesting to see what the ab belt can do in the future! This time the typwriter doesn't have pipe cleaner arms but pipe cleaner claws. It also moves sideways just like all other crabs do. Old Town Road played by two electric toothbrushes, two credit card machines, a typewriter, and a steam iron. You've requested this Lil Nas X (ft. Billy Ray Cyrus) song a lot, for a full year and now. It was great to finally make the video. I reused some clothes from the Country Roads video. I painted the hat to (matte) black with a permanent marker. The black leather jacket of the lead singer toothbrush is from the Knight Rider video. The horse comes from a stable called a flea market. Of course, I improved the horse's sight with a pair of googly eyes. The lead singer toothbrush sings the melody and another toothbrush takes care of the bassline. The banjos of the original version of the song are here replaced by two credit card machines holding hands. The percussion is played by a steam iron and the cartridge of an electric typewriter moving back and forth. #OldTownRoad, #LilNasX *** Share this video: https://youtu.be/H4WivFF5Rq4 *** Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/deviceorchestra?sub_confirmation=1 *** Device Orchestra store: https://teespring.com/stores/device-orchestra?page=1 *** More on electric toothbrushes: Never Gonna Give You Up: https://youtu.be/jzwMjOl8Iyo bad guy: https://youtu.be/8jDROj236R4 USSR Anthem: https://youtu.be/bw7ZZokxV-w We Will Rock You: https://youtu.be/Hh9pm9yjmLs Darude - Sandstorm: https://youtu.be/cmO6QkJhuu4 Pirates of The Caribbean Theme: https://youtu.be/9Zd9hURkmXM Take Me Home, Country Roads: https://youtu.be/iVc0kMlzb6I *** On credit card machines: US National Anthem: https://youtu.be/iXZGsqy-sRA Pharrell Williams - Happy: https://youtu.be/5Q1DBMmZF7Q Super Mario Bros. Get 20% OFF + Free Shipping + 2 FREE Gifts @MANSCAPED with promo code DEVICE20 at https://manscaped.com ! #sponsored, #ad In this behind-the-scenes video, I'll show you how to play music on a body trimmer. I show and explain all the steps from wiring to tuning. Finally, the men's body groomer plays its interpretation of the song When The Saints Go Marching In. To turn the device into an instrument, we need to control the motor. And that takes some electrical engineering. I open the casing to expose the motor. I connect some wires to the motor by soldering and then close the casing. Now we can change the speed of the motor by changing the voltage of the current. The higher the voltage, the higher the RPM, and the sound. To play a melody, we need to automate the voltage change. I do that with the help of PWM (pulse width modulation). I implement the PWM using an H-bridge and an Arduino microcontroller. I tune the device using a guitar tuning app. I find the correct PWM values for each note. After that, I tell the values to a program on my computer. The program can read a sheet music file and translate that into a form that a microcontroller understands. And finally, we can play the song on the device. This is my first making-of / behind-the-scenes type of video (in a long time) and I made it by popular request. Take Me Home, Country Roads played by five electric toothbrushes and two electric typewriters. The John Denver toothbrush also drives on his RC car. Googly eyes on the road! It’s been a whole year since you first requested this John Denver song. But I decided to wait until the right time of the year to get some outdoor footage with field scenery just before harvest time. The soloist toothbrush wears a cowboy hat, a flannel shirt, and jeans overalls. Driving these toy RC cars appeared to be really hard. Though I had an assistant driving the cars while I was behind the camera, it was hard to steer the vehicles. Especially driving two RC cars with one controller at the same time turned out to be challenging. Lyrics: Almost heaven, West Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads I hear her voice in the mornin' hour, she calls me The radio reminds me of my home far away Drivin' down the road, I get a feelin' That I should've been home yesterday, yesterday Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads Take me home, down country roads *** Device Orchestra store: https://teespring.com/stores/device-orchestra?page=1 #CountryRoads, #JohnDenver *** Share this video: https://youtu.be/iVc0kMlzb6I *** Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/deviceorchestra?sub_confirmation=1 *** More on electric toothbrushes: Never Gonna Give You Up: https://youtu.be/jzwMjOl8Iyo bad guy: https://youtu.be/8jDROj236R4 USSR Anthem: https://youtu.be/bw7ZZokxV-w We Will Rock You: https://youtu.be/Hh9pm9yjmLs Darude - Sandstorm: https://youtu.be/cmO6QkJhuu4 Pirates of The Caribbean Theme: https://youtu.be/9Zd9hURkmXM *** On credit card machines: US National Anthem: https://youtu.be/iXZGsqy-sRA Pharrell Williams - Happy: https://youtu.be/5Q1DBMmZF7Q Super Mario Bros.
