This demo was released at VCF Midwest 2024. It is a re-creation of the famous demo by Future Crew that was originally released at Assembly '93. Only this time, instead of running on a 486 CPU, it is running on a 6502. The music was originally a "Mod-Tracker" type format, but has been reimagined for the Yamaha YM2151 and Vera sound available on the Commander X16. Ports of this demo have also been done for the Atari ST, Commodore 64, and Apple II, among others. But none come closer to the original than this one.

Well, they wanted to meet a special classification in California and other CARB states that would allow them to get ZEV credits (zero-emission vehicle credits) for this vehicle even though it is technically a plug-in hybrid. One of the rules they had to meet was that the range extender had to have less range than the battery range. Since the EPA ended up rating the car lower than they originally thought, they had to reduce the size of the gas tank. Another crazy rule they had to meet was that the range extender not be available unless the battery was fully depleted. So that was why they removed the hold mode as well. As a result, the USA version of the car has a much less capable range extender. Nevertheless, the REx works absolutely fine in the city even when crippled. However, fast highway travel or long climbs up mountain passes can be a problem. If you plan to do that, you need the hold mode so that you can engage the REx while the battery is still at 75%. This will ensure that you don't lose any performance of the vehicle while operating on gasoline.

Here is an up-to-date video for 2014 showing how to jailbreak the original iPhone 2g. This will help you activate the iPhone 2g even without a SIM card. I wasted an entire day trying to figure this out, since most of the information out there is obsolete. So I thought the least I could do was make a decent video showing how to accomplish it.

They can be purchased for around $20 on eBay. I'm using one as a secondary access point to extend my range, but I'm not using the WDS (Wireless distribution system) because my house is wired for ethernet. it works with the iPhone, iPod, iPad, MacBook, or Windows PCs without any issues.

Obviously this isn't a black and white issue, as in theory Macs can get viruses, but in practice they don't. In this video, I explore the 4 main reasons I believe Macs don't get viruses. Those reasons are 1) system architechture, 2) Market Share, 3) 3rd Party add-ons such as Adobe Reader and Java, and 4) User Base.

In this video, I tackle the question of the PowerPC G4 and if it is actually obsolete already. So I force myself to go an entire week using nothing but computers powered by a G4 processor and find out whether I can live with it. In the end, I discovered that as long as you don't mind using some software that is slightly out-of-date (IE: Photoshop, final-cut-pro), there is very little that you can't do on one of these. Also I would mention that when I made the video, Camino was the best browser. However, I now recommend TenFourFox as the best browser for PowerPC systems.

Most quick-lube places (and unfortunately even some Toyota Dealerships) will overfill a Prius if you take it in. The reason is that most places overfill any car by default, so they don't have to worry about underfilling it or having the customer complain that they didn't get their money's worth of oil by not having it reach or surpass the "full" mark. With most cars this will affect your gas mileage to some degree, but won't harm anything else. With the Prius it is a different story. That is because the engine is designed different and it will suck that extra oil into the intake manifold. This can cause the car to misfire (run rough) or fail to start at all. So in this video, I show how to remove the excess oil on a 2001-2003 model prius. Also I learned that the reason the Prius is so vulnerable actually has nothing to do with the Atkinson cycle I mentioned in the video. Apparently it is caused because the prius starts the engine at 1,200 RPM and the huge vacuum sucks the oil up.

This is a preview of a new game I've been working on for a while for the Commodore VIC-20. Originally I had planned on porting Flash Attack to the VIC-20, but later on I realized it would be better if I could find a way to convert it to a 1-player game. So this is the concept I've come up with. It is still not finished, obviously, but I thought it might be nice to show people a peek at the game without making them download something and try to play it on an emulator.

Which webcams work on a Mac? I took a walk into a local Target store and bought 6 models: Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks, Webcam C120, Webcam C200, Webcam C250 and the Microsoft LifeCam VX-700 and VX-5000 models. I also tried them on iBook G3, iBook G4, and on an Apple iMac. I also tried them under Tiger, Leopard, and Snow Leopard. I also test under 3 lighting conditions too.
